Cannabis Biz
I am one of the many millions of people in this country who are looking forward to the day when Australian laws are rewritten to decriminalise cannabis. The current feeling of shame associated with it can be overwhelming, especially for those who are already working hard to recover from chronic mental and physical illnesses.
Choosing cannabis as part of my mental health management plan is crucial and is overseen by a specialised GP and mental health therapist. However, finding physicians knowledgeable about the plant and not fearful of the stigma it carries can be challenging. Additionally, filling a prescription at a pharmacy can cost over $150 per visit.
I hope that as our modern medical industry evolves, there will be new training and perspectives around this powerful plant for medical and recreational purposes. I often dream of owning a cannabis farm where I can grow, make, and sell products that I use myself. This would allow me to advocate for its safety and efficacy in managing overall health and well-being in active recovery from alcoholism and mental illness.
Cannabis has saved my life, and I am passionate about advocating for it. I believe it has the potential to change the face of the medical industry and to be legally safe for recreational use, which could also open up avenues for business growth within our struggling economy.
